Like other areas in the body, hip injuries run the gambit from tendonits and bursitis to dislocations. Most hip problems are over extertion type injuries and most are muscle strains and bursitis. Dislocations of the hip joint from sporting activity is rare. Femoro-Acetabular Impingement (FAI) has drawn a fair amount of publicity in the last 5 years and remains the leading cause of hip arthritis in men. Labral tears also occur, mostly in conjunction with some type of anatomic hip abnormality, but can be from a traumatic injury as well.
